Baby Boomers Unite

About Twitter:

Or Face Book, in My Space, or G-blog

Cyber-world is a product of B-Boomers, our generation

Not Gen X, nor our Gen Y Kids – the internet is ours

Forged from parents who survived the Great Depression

Lived through WW II and Korea

Our futures were paved long before we drew breath

Now we are the geriatric types

We still seek answers and solutions

Determined to make sense of ‘who we are’ and ‘why we are here’

Our lives are parables

The juxtaposition of each one of our lives intersects with others

These disparate parts create a ‘whole’

Every morning as we rise

Percolating coffee, checking email

There is, thankfully, a constant

Whom we choose to worship

Regardless of belief

We Boomers must decide to unite

We cast our own lot as we well know

By age and collective wisdom

Incontrovertibly, we are already connected

Our shared knowledge

The skill sets we have honed

Have created a symphony

Millennia before we Boomers

Began our journey, wrote our melodies or sang our songs

Aesop taught us: "United we stand, divided we fall"

Our parents and grandparents led the way

And saved the day

Through war, famine and pestilence

Now it is up to us

Because when we stand together

We are strong

History is being written today

Whimsically, Ferguson wrote: ‘Tomorrow is just a future yesterday’

What will our legacy be?

Together we can transfer our faith

Pass on what we have learned

And pave a golden path for our children to follow

Together we can solve our ills

United we can compile our collaborations

As a generation, it is time for us to mobilize

Coincidence does not exist

Therefore through Twitter, Face Book, Classmates, You Tube and all the rest

We can almost instantaneously meld together

So I ask you

Are you ready to lead the way?

Are you ready to stand united with your fellow B Boomers?
